Thanos Hotels & Resorts is seeking to recruit a Host/Hostess for the Anassa Hotel.  

Job Role
  • Host/Hostess presents a positive first impression of the establishment’s friendliness, excellent service and high standards.
  • Greets Guests upon arrival, inform Guests of their wait time, monitor a waiting list, enter Guest names into a log, show Guests to their table and bid Guests farewell as they leave.
  • Host/Hostess must be able to carry natural conversation with Guests without sounding scripted or intrusive.
  • Performs light housekeeping duties such as cleaning/polishing glasses and menus.
  • As a member of an energetic team, Host/Hostess may also need to answer phones and take reservations.
 
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Upon starting the shift the host/ess reviews the reservations, follows up on double bookings in different outlets and checks all special occasions and amenity requests (flowers/cakes etc.).
  • Communicates reservations to the service staff in order to prepare the tables accordingly.
  • Informs the restaurant manager or head waiter about special occasions and amenity requests.
  • Is able to communicate with the guests in a minimum of two languages fluently (local language and English).
  • Has an in-depth knowledge about the menus (food and beverage) and the weekly restaurant program and is well informed about hotel procedures.
  • Escorts guests to tables, assists with chair seating. May offer an aperitif and/or water/drink (subject to restaurant standards) and wishes the guest a pleasant evening.
  • Informs respective waiter about the name and room number of the table and, if appropriate, about aperitif or drink order.
  • Ensures full guest satisfaction upon the departure of the guests. 
  • Maximises employee productivity and morale, whilst consistently maintaining discipline following hotel guidelines and legislation as directed by the Restaurant Manager.
  • Takes pride in a professional appearance and adheres to grooming and verbiage standards.
  • Reports all accidents, health and safety hazards to the head waiter or Restaurant Manager immediately.
  • Executes other duties as may be assigned by a supervisor from time to time due to operational needs.
  • Promotes the restaurant in different areas of the hotel as well as other areas (restaurants, bars, social meetings, sales calls) in Paphos.
 
Requirements
  • Previous experience as a Host/Hostess at a 5* Hotel
  • Excellent knowledge of English.  Knowledge of Greek or any other language will be considered as an advantage
  • Pleasant, honest and friendly personality
  • Ability to work in a fast pace environment and cope under pressure
  • Computer Literate
  • To be quality driven and critical of all aspects of the food and beverage operation in order to guarantee the highest level of creativity and productivity within the organization
  • The ability to cope under pressure
  • Excellent interpersonal skills in handling guest complaints
