Chief Accountant at Corporate/Management - Thanos Hotels & Resorts

Thanos Hotels & Resorts is seeking to recruit a Chief Accountant.

Job Role

Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, maintaining compliance with statutory requirements, and supporting strategic financial planning.

Duties & Responsibilities

Oversee and execute all accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations;
Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in compliance with local and international accounting standards;
Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reports to support strategic decision-making;
Ensure compliance with Cyprus tax laws, VAT regulations, and international regulatory requirements, especially related to online transactions;
Monitor and manage transaction fees, payment gateway reporting, and online payment reconciliations;
Implement and maintain strong internal controls to protect the integrity of financial information and processes;
Manage and monitor cash flow, ensuring sufficient liquidity for operations and growth initiatives;
Optimize accounting systems for seamless integration with online sales and transaction data;
Provide key financial insights and support to senior management to inform business strategy;
Build, recruit, and train a growing accounting and finance team as the company scales;
Take full ownership of operational accounting tasks until the finance team is fully built.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent (required).
5-year experience in similar role.
